Storm Gloria caused extensive damage to towns along Spain’s eastern coast during the night of January 19 into January 20, resulting in at least three deaths, El Pais reported.
The storm affected towns in Valencia and Catalonia as well as the Balearic Islands. El Pais reported that the Spanish meteorological agency AEMET registered winds of 121 kilometers per hour in Coruña and115 kilometers per hour in Valencia. AEMET said the height of waves whipped up by Gloria were breaking records.
