While it's too early to predict how much snow is on the way, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the province.
"It is too early to pinpoint exact snowfall amounts but amounts are likely to exceed 15 centimetres for most of the province," the statement said.
The national weather service says there is an intense low pressure system that will track toward the Maritimes on Tuesday bringing with it snow, blowing snow and high winds.
The storm is expected to begin late Tuesday over the province and continue into Wednesday.
The snow could change to rain on Wednesday for parts of southern N.B.
