Stormy Daniels, aka Stephanie Clifford, sat down with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes to discuss the details of the alleged affair she had with Donald Trump. Daniels also talked about the threats she said she got to keep the story to herself.
Daniels claimed that in 2011, a man threatened her in a parking garage when she was with her baby daughter. She told Anderson, “A guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.’ And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.’ And then he was gone.”
Following that incident, and just days before the 2016 election, Daniels signed a nondisclosure agreement and received $130,000 from Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen. Fifteen months later, when the story surfaced in the Wall Street Journal, Daniels signed another statement denying that she had been paid. She said she felt pressured by her manager and lawyer to sign the statement because “they made it sound like I had no choice.” Daniels added, “As a matter of fact, the exact sentence used was, ‘They can make your life hell in many different ways.'” When Anderson asked who she thought the “they” were who would make her life hell, Daniels told him, “I’m not exactly sure. … I believe it to be Michael Cohen.”
