On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Monday, Stranger Things Season 4 star Joseph Quinn stopped by and spoke about being detained by Customs when coming into the country. The British actor, who plays Eddie Munson on the show, was not able to convince the officer of why he was in the U.S.

“I was taken into, I guess what you could call it, it was more of a dungeon, and I was asked to wait there for about 20 minutes,” Quinn said. “So then I was summoned to this desk where someone asked me, ‘What are you doing in the United States, sir?’ I said, ‘Well, I’m actually here to meet Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.’ And he didn’t believe me.”

Fortunately for Quinn, someone recognized him from the show.

“One of his colleagues looked over at me,” Quinn said, “looked at him, and said, ‘Leave Eddie alone.’”

After the colleague explained to the original officer who Quinn is, it became clear that the officer is also a fan of Stranger Things and had an entirely different inquiry.

“He was like, ‘Do you come back next season?’” Quinn said. “I said, ‘I don’t know.’ He’s like, ‘You better.’ Gave me the passport.”

JOSEPH QUINN: I said, well, I'm actually here to meet Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show."

JIMMY FALLON: Yeah.

JOSEPH QUINN: And he didn't believe me.

[LAUGHTER]

And one of his colleagues looked over at me, looked at him, and said, leave Eddie alone.

[LAUGHTER]

[APPLAUSE]

[DRUMROLL]

And then-- [LAUGHS] Yeah.

[POP MUSIC]

KYLIE MAR: Turns out the original officer was also a fan of "Stranger Things," and the line of questioning changed dramatically.

JOSEPH QUINN: He said, who are you? And I was like, I [? don't ?] know. He's like, it's Eddie from "Stranger Things." He's like, you're Eddie Munson?

I was like, kind of. He was like, do you come back next season?

[LAUGHTER]

[CLAPPING]

I was like, um, I don't know.

JIMMY FALLON: I don't know.

JOSEPH QUINN: He was like, you'd better. Gave me the passport and [INAUDIBLE].

JIMMY FALLON: And there you go.
