Strathcona County man charged with murder in father's death

A Strathcona County man has been charged with murder in the death of his father.

RCMP say they were called to a rural residence in Strathcona County just before 12:30 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, Norman Eric Stroh, 71, was found suffering from stab wounds, police said in a media release. He died at the scene.

The man's son, Kristian Darius Stroh, 35, was charged with first-degree murder.

Kristian Stroh was not previously known to police, RCMP say, and there was no one else in the home at the time.

RCMP are continuing to investigate the incident and an autopsy is scheduled for the victim on Monday.
