Stray goat tries to bully its way into Ireland store, terrorizes customers

A billy goat caused quite the ruckus after trying to bully its way into a convenience store in Northern Ireland, ultimately terrorizing several customers.

It was in the early morning hours of Dec. 6th when store manager Jonathan Smyth heard an unusual banging sound while opening up shop in the town of Carrickfergus, reports The Carrick Times. Thinking it was a delivery man dropping off bread, he walked over to the store’s entrance where he found an angry goat trying to barge through the front door.

“I looked up and there was a massive goat, two foot up the door and it went nuts!,” he told The Carrick Times.

“It seemed to want to break into the shop and it was staring straight at me.”

Video of the incident shows the the goat jumping up onto its hind legs and banging against the shop’s glass doors.

Unable to force its way inside, the irate animal decided to take its frustration out on anyone and anything that had the misfortune of running across its path outside.

“It was into the baskets, eating all the plants and running around the car park. I thought: ‘You’ve got to be kidding me!’,” Smyth said.

The goat came across an elderly customer, who just so happens to be named Billy, that Smyth was forced to rescue.

“We have a pensioner named Billy who shops here and it charged at him…I grabbed him and dragged him through the door just in time before the goat crashed into the door!”

“There was also a wee lady coming with money to pay, but she had to get back into her car.”

Fortunately, after several minutes of the goat wreaking havoc in the parking lot, a passerby was able to grab the beast by the horns and safely haul it away.
