Stretch of Wilson Ave closed during morning rush hour

A stretch of Wilson Avenue west of Dufferin Street is likely to remain closed through the morning rush hour after a car slammed into an electrical pole.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. ET and both the car and pole were significantly damaged in the crash.

Police originally thought the driver had left the scene, but it turned out that she had only gone to a nearby store to get a coffee and quickly returned.

She was treated by EMS at the scene.

There is no word on what may have caused the collision.

Police said Wilson Avenue west of Dufferin Street will likely be closed until about 10 a.m. ET.

The TTC 120 Calvington bus is diverting eastbound and the 96 Wilson and 165 Weston North are diverting both ways to avoid the scene.
