Strictly Come Dancing spoilers follow.

Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones has responded to her partner Wynne Evans's "hand incident" on the show.

On Saturday night (October 12), fans noticed Katya ignore Wynne's attempt at a high five, before she later moved his hand from her waist.

The clip quickly went viral on social media, with many viewers speculating that Katya was uncomfortable during the interaction.

Shortly after the live show, Wynne shared a video of himself and Katya apologising for the confusion, as they were "just messing around".

"Apologies for this tonight, we were just messing around," the Instagram post read. "We really are amazing friends. The high 5's is a running joke. Have a great evening."

Katya took to her own Instagram account on Sunday (October 13) to reassure viewers that there is no tension between them, before clarifying that she didn't feel "uncomfortable" or "offended".

"I need to make something crystal clear," she began. "The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly inside joke between Wynne and I.

"So even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is complete nonsense. It's actually absurd. So let's focus on how brilliantly @wynneevans is doing and what an amazing dancer he's becoming!"

This week, Wynne and Katya performed a Tango to the iconic ABBA song 'Money, Money, Money', which scored 34 points – landing them joint second on the leaderboard.

Anton Du Beke praised Wynne for his "commitment" to the routine's business theme, while Craig Revel Horwood shared his "love" for the dance.

"This is why I love Strictly Come Dancing. This is why I love dancing," said Motsi Mabuse. "I feel like, for me personally, this is your best dance yet. I've been waiting for this dance."

Sunday's results show saw Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk become the third couple to leave the competition after losing the dance-off to Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
