Structure fire destroys building in Los Osos neighborhood
A fire destroyed an outbuilding in Los Osos on Friday, according to Cal Fire.
The building, located on the 1200 block of Santa Ysabel Avenue, was 100% damaged in the fire, Cal Fire announced via Twitter.
The fire erupted at about 1 p.m. at the building, which was a storage unit for an incense business, Cal Fire said.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, the building was fully involved in flame and neighbors were throwing water on the blaze to keep it from spreading, according to SLO County Cal Fire Battalion Chief Paul Provence.
Firefighters knocked down the fire within five minutes of arriving on the scene, Provence said.
No one was injured, and no other buildings were damaged, he said.
Emergency responders temporarily blocked Santa Ysabel Avenue from 14th Street to 15th Street.
The South Bay Fire Department and SLO County Cal Fire responded to the incident, according to Provence.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
