Student bus passes to cost more next year
The cost of monthly bus passes for Edmonton public school students is going up in September.
Passes for elementary school students are increasing $3 to $30 a month. Passes for junior and senior high school students will be $55, an increase of $7 each month.
The district says transportation costs have increased due to demand from developing communities and higher fees paid to the bus companies.
The district is also expecting the province to chop $1.2 million from its transportation funding.
