Watch: Sugababes trio announce official UK tour from October
The original Sugababes have announced that they are hitting the road for their first UK headline tour together in years.
The trio - Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy - shared their news during an appearance on This Morning.
Buchanan said the 'Push The Button' singers were "so excited" about the tour, which comes after several line-up changes and a battle to reclaim the name of their group.
"We are so excited and already brainstorming ideas, and we have an amazing band… look at us now, we’re doing it!” she said.
Buchanan, Buena and Donaghy formed the girl band in 1998, but Donaghy left three years later and was replaced by Heidi Range.
Buena, 37, left in 2005, to be replaced by Amelle Berrabah, and Buchanan left in 2009 so Jade Ewen stepped in.
The trio reformed as MKS in 2012 and in 2019 managed to win back the rights to the name Sugababes.
"It was really important for us because we came up with it when we were kids, but we stuck together and it’s who we are really and we’re just glad that we’ve got it back… and that’s why everything we do now means so much more.”
Talking about how young they were when they started out, Donaghy, 38, said: "There was obviously a lot of scrutiny.
"We were three awkward teenagers and we didn’t go to stage school or anything like that and we’re still not media trained as you can probably tell, but you’re really hard on yourself and it’s so different this time round, we’re just so much more relaxed.”
The tour starts in October, with tickets going on sale on 1 July.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
