Feb. 2 (UPI) -- NBC is sharing new details about its Suits spinoff, Suits L.A.

The network said in a press release Thursday that it's given a pilot order to the legal drama.

Suits L.A. is a spinoff of Suits, which had a nine-season run on USA Network from 2011 to 2019. The original series starred Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Rick Hoffman and Meghan Markle.

The new show will follow Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who now represents the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. The character finds his firm at a crisis point.

"Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can't help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved," an official synopsis reads.

Suits L.A. will begin filming in Vancouver, Canada, in late March.

The pilot is written and executive produced by Suits creator Aaron Korsh.

Casting has yet to be announced.
