A sunny but cold Valentine's Day

An intense cold snap is expected to last all weekend across Quebec.

Quebecers should bundle up for a sunny but cold Sunday. In some regions it will feel below -40 C.

The overnight low will be -22 C in Montreal and -26 C in Quebec City.

Montreal, Laval, Châteauguay and Longueuil should experience of a mix of sun and cloud during the day on Sunday. Wind gusts are expected to reach 60 km/h in the afternoon.

Temperature will reach a high of -20 C, and -41 C with wind chill.

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the entire province. If you are going out, it is important to wear appropriate clothing and to layer to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.

The cold is expected to let up by Monday, with a snowstorm expected for Tuesday. Quebec could receive anywhere between 20 to 30 centimetres of snow.
