Sunny Friday in Winnipeg, possible showers in western Manitoba

Friday starts out sunny across southern Manitoba but some rain could creep into the forecast later in the day.

Brandon, Swan River and Dauphin are most likely to see some scattered showers and perhaps a thunderstorm in the late afternoon or evening.

That rain will move east across the province Friday, missing Winnipeg but hitting the southeast corner before moving into northwestern Ontario's cottage country on Saturday morning, according to CBC meteorologist John Sauder.
