Suspect arrested over a month after hit-and-run crash left 1 dead in Macon, deputies say

A man was arrested on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, after he allegedly crashed into a pedestrian on Sept. 29, in Macon, Ga., according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

A man turned himself into the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Monday, over a month after he allegedly killed a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash.

Tony Bernard Feagin was wanted in Bibb County in connection with the death of 25-year-old Hatima Ayana Wilkins, who was found unresponsive on Hawkinsville Road, south of Feagin Road on Sept. 29, deputies said.

Feagin was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center just before 8 a.m., and was being held without bond, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

He faces charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, hit-and-run, duty of driver to stop at or return to scene of an accident and failure to maintain lane.
