Assault suspect arrested after east Fort Worth SWAT callout and standoff, police say
A suspect wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was taken into custody after a SWAT team was called out to an east Fort Worth residence where the suspect was reportedly barricaded on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The SWAT team was en route to the active scene of the standoff in the 2000 block of Lynnhaven Road shortly before 1 p.m., according to police. The initial 911 call was received around 11:15 a.m., and more than 20 units responded.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident Tuesday afternoon, a Fort Worth police spokesperson said. Further details about the assault investigation were not immediately available.
