Suspected Galloway Boy arrested, charged with attempted murder

Ad-Ham Khamis, 19, is charged with four counts of attempted murder.

Toronto police have arrested "a known Galloway Boy [sic] gang member" and charged him with four counts of attempted murder.

Ad-Ham Khamis, 19, has also been charged with a number of other offences in connection with a series of shootings in Scarborough during a five month period in late 2011 and early 2012.

Khamis made a brief court appearance on Friday and was ordered held in custody until his next court appearance on Sept. 27.

In a news release announcing the arrest police say Khamis is a member of the Galloway Boys, which has been the focus of increased police attention since this summer's shooting during a street party on Danzig Street.

Two bystanders were killed in the shooting and more than 20 wounded. Police say the gang was behind the violence.

Police will only say that Khamis' arrest is "[a]s a result of an ongoing investigation" and that "members of the homicide squad and 43 Division, with the assistance of the public, have made an arrest in a series of shootings that occurred in Scarborough between September 2011 and January 2012."

Khamis is charged with being responsible for shooting three people at a Domino's Pizza on Sept. 4, 2011.

He is also accused of shooting a person on Northfield Drive on Nov. 4, 2011.

Police say they want to speak with anyone who has any information about the accused.
