Suspected gun found in New IRA search near Strabane

A suspected firearm has been found in County Tyrone by police investigating dissident republican activity.

It was discovered on Monday during a search outside Strabane by officers investigating the activities of the New IRA, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.

It has been removed and will undergo forensic examinations.

Police have asked for anyone with information to come forward.
