After attending Prince Philip’s funeral, which took place yesterday (Saturday 17 April) in St George’s Chapel in Windsor, Prince Harry and Prince William were seen in conversation with Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge, as they left the chapel together. It is the first time Prince Harry and Prince William have been seen together since Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, filmed a tell-all interview with Oprah.

Prior to the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral, many speculated that Prince Philip’s sad passing could prompt Prince Harry and Prince William to repair their relationship, which has reportedly been strained in the aftermath of Prince Harry and The Duchess of Sussex stepping down from royal family duties.

In his interview with Oprah, Prince Harry described his relationship with his brother as being one of “space”.

"The relationship is 'space' at the moment," said Prince Harry. "And time heals all things, hopefully."

During the funeral procession the brothers did not walk side by side, instead being separated by their cousin Peter Philips as they walked behind their grandfather’s coffin towards the chapel. A royal spokesperson commented on this decision, telling The Guardian that Buckingham Palace would not be drawn into any "perceptions of drama". The Guardian also reported that a spokesperson said: "The arrangements have been agreed, and they represent Her Majesty’s wishes.”

Earlier this year, Prince William became the first member of the royal family to comment on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah. When asked by an interviewer whether he'd spoken to his brother since the interview, Prince William replied, "No, I haven't spoken to him yet but I will do."

The Prince was then asked "And can you just let me know, is the royal family a racist family?" to which he replied, "No, we're very much not a racist family" before continuing to walk past the reporter with wife Kate.

Our thoughts are with the entire family during this sad time.
