Sydenham race back after four years of cancellations

SYDENHAM RIVER - A bit of rain was not going to stop paddlers who have been waiting four long years to get back on the water for the Sydenham River Canoe and Kayak Race held by the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) and Foundation.

Two years of high water followed by two years of pandemic kept the boats dry until 1 May 2022, when over 70 paddlers of all ages and abilities raced from Mosside Road to the Shetland Conservation Area.

This year’s race raised over $5,000 for the SCRCA’s Conservation Education programme.
