Tamara Ecclestone has welcomed her second child with husband Jay Rutland.

The 36-year-old socialite, who is the daughter of ex-Formula One tycoon Bernie Ecclestone, gave birth to a baby girl last week in Switzerland.

Her father confirmed the news to the Daily Mail yesterday (September 23), informing the publication that the family's new addition had arrived in the same hospital that Tamara's half-brother Alexander was born in back in July.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to be a grandfather again. Mother and baby are doing brilliantly," Bernie, 89, explained. "She's a beautiful little thing. She has named her Serena and both of them have been already out on the town together around Gstaad.

Ecclestone and Rutland have been married since 2013, and already have one child together, a six-year-old named Sophia. Last year, in an interview with HELLO, she opened up about her family life and how her daughter wouldn't stop asking about them expanding their brood.

"She's been talking about how much she wants a sibling, and for the first time I'm open to the idea," Ecclestone admitted. "She really wants a sister, but certainly not a brother – she's very girlie and thinks boys are smelly."

The statement came just a few months after she told The Sun: "I would love to give her a gift that no one else can – a sibling – but it has to be the right time."

Looks like now was that right time!
