Tatis Jr. knows his MLB debut with Padres is getting closer

It might seem like service time manipulation, but he needs a month or two at AAA (or even AA) before coming up. He tends to start slow before tearing it up, and it'd be better to do that in the PCL to get his feet under him before exposing him to MLB pitching. It'll also work through any potential lingering injury issues -- although that's probably a likely non-factor given his winter ball schedule.

With Hudson Potts and X Edwards in the system, the left side of the Padres infield might be very interesting in 2 - 3 years.

A prediction: Both Fernando Tatis Jr. and Eloy Jimenez will end up with better MLB careers than Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

I wish this kid the best of luck in his future in MLB. Like most I’ll never forget the game his Pop hit two grand slams in one inning. I always thought that was one of the coolest things ever in MLB individually speaking.

His dad hit 2 grand slams in 1 inning. Only person to have done it, I think.

Tatis will be another Ozzie . The Padres will trade him at some point in his career, and then he will end up with a Hall of Fame career with another team.
