Taylor Swift Fans Are Spiraling Over Travis Kelce’s Reaction to Hailee Steinfeld’s Engagement to Josh Allen

Hailee Steinfeld is about to enter the “W” phase of her WAG journey—and many Taylor Swift fans are making it clear they’d like to see the pop star join her.
On November 29, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen revealed his engagement to the 27-year-old Dickinson actor on Instagram, sharing a photo of his elaborate beach-side proposal. In the image, the 28-year-old NFL player kneels in front of Steinfeld, who is surrounded by candles and a stunning floral archway. He captioned the photo with the date he popped the question, November 22. You can see the announcement here.
“Congratulations!!!” Kelce commented on Allen’s post with a series of raised hands and clapping emojis, immediately sparking a wave of comments that all say pretty much the same thing. “You next,” was the most popular reply to Kelce’s comment, though plenty of Swifties and NFL fans also wrote, “Your move.”

According to People, Steinfeld and Allen were first linked in May 2023 and made their first public appearance together in October 2023—not long after the actor’s friend Taylor Swift attended her first Chiefs game, all but announcing her relationship with Travis Kelce in late September. Considering the A-list couples share a similar relationship timeline, it should come as no surprise that fans have started instructing Kelce to shoot his next shot.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are no strangers to engagement pressure. While Swift has grappled with the public’s expectations during previous relationships—just listen to the lyrics of “Lavender Haze” and “Champagne Problems”—Kelce’s been asked about his plans so much he started having a bit of fun with it on his podcast, much to the chagrin of Jason Kelce. After months of speculation, Kelce’s team stepped in to shut down a false report in August.
Of course, not everyone thinks fans should be so comfortable involving themselves in Swift and Kelce’s personal lives. “Maybe they don’t want to get engaged,” one fan replied to those “you next” comments. “It’s their lives let them be.”
