Tasseography, aka the art of reading tea leaves, has been around for literally hundreds of years…and yes, it can help you find meaning in the chaos that is 2020.

Psychic tea-leaf reader Blue June suggests beginning by honoring tea leaves in your own way, like holding them and meditating on the question you’d like to ask. Then place a teaspoon of loose leaves in your teacup, pour in boiling water, and allow the leaves to steep.

After you’ve sipped all your tea (minus the leaves), place the teacup upside down on a saucer, turn the cup clockwise three times, tap the bottom three times, and turn the cup back over. Then look for the shapes the leaves make, starting at the rim near the handle and moving clockwise to the middle, then to the bottom of the cup. Pay special attention to how the shapes relate to one another. Like, an ax next to a heart means that your relationship is likely over (meep).

Let your intuition guide you, and keep an eye out for these:

A letter: Someone whose name starts with this letter is coming into your life and/or causing drama.

Scattered dashes: You’re about to be super busy.

A lion: You’re feeling strong or victorious.

A key: Be ready for a new opportunity.

An envelope: There’s big news coming, and it’s probably good.

A crescent moon: You’ll have meaningful dreams.

The Sun: Happiness is on the horizon.

A star: You should follow your dreams.
