Teacher accused of sexual relationship with 13-year-old student
A teacher at a middle school in Etobicoke is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student.
Police arrested Joseph Diletto, 34, of Mississauga, on Wednesday and charged him with sexual interference, sexual exploitation and sexual assault. He taught at Hollycrest Middle School.
He appeared in court on Thursday for a bail hearing.
His lawyer, Lou Strezos, said Diletto was released on $2,500 bail. Diletto taught for years without any incidents, said Strezos.
Diletto's next court appearance will be in September, his lawyer said.
Police believe there may be more victims.
