Ted Lasso star lands next TV role
Ted Lasso star Phil Dunster has landed his next TV role in a new untitled comedy series from HBO.
According to Deadline, the Emmy-nominated actor has been cast in the 10-part series opposite The Office's Steve Carell. The series will be set on a college campus and star Carell as an author who has a complicated relationship with his daughter.
Further plot details, including who Dunster will be playing, are being kept under wraps for the time being.

The premiere episode is being written by Scrubs collaborators Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses, who are also executive producing alongside Carell, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer.
The series will mark a reunion between Dunster and Lawrence, who co-created and executive produced Ted Lasso for Apple TV+.
Dunster starred in the award-winning show as AFC Richmond striker Jamie Tartt, a role that earned him an Emmy nomination in 2023 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Ted Lasso ended in May 2023 after three seasons, but a potential fourth season got a promising update in August.

It was confirmed that Warner Bros Television picked up the options for three of the show's original cast members, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift. The studio is also expected to make new deals with cast members whose SAG-AFTRA contracts had expired, including lead actor Jason Sudeikis.
Lawrence previously said that he would "go nuts" if another season was given the green light, but explained that it would only go ahead if Sudeikis was up for returning.
"As fans, we'd all kill if it was going again, but everybody would say the same thing, which is: whatever Jason feels like doing and whatever his decision is, we're all down with it. Not only is he the star, he's the head writer," he said.
Ted Lasso is streaming in its entirety on Apple TV+.
