Teen facing assault charges after incident at St. John's school

A 17-year-old male is facing assault charges, following an incident at a St. John's school Friday morning.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were called to a school in the central area of the city, after receiving an assault complaint.

The teenager was charged with assault causing bodily harm.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District said the incident is being reviewed, and disciplinary action will take place at the school.

The RNC said there were no injuries reported in the incident.

The teen was released to appear in court at a later date.
