Driver facing charges after teen seriously injured in high school parking lot

An 18-year-old driver is facing charges of criminal negligence causing bodily harm after another teen was seriously injured when he ended up under a vehicle Tuesday at a Windsor, N.S., high school.

RCMP said there was no altercation between the driver and the 17-year-old victim before the incident at Avon View High School.

"We're just trying to figure out what took place here," Cpl. Jennifer Clarke said.

The driver was arrested and is facing charges of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and dangerous driving. He will appear in Windsor provincial court on May 30.

The injured teenager was flown to a Halifax hospital to be treated for serious injuries, police said.
