Teenage motorcyclist dies after van, motorcycle collide in Macon, coroner says
A teenage motorcyclist died in a crash Saturday afternoon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies received a 911 call around 1 p.m. after a “van pulled out in front of a motorcycle rider” in front of a house on Jones and School roads, according to a death investigation report from the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.
The 19-year-old motorcyclist, Christopher Allen Jr., was taken to Atrium Health Navicent hospital where he was pronounced dead around 1:45 p.m., according to the coroner’s office. Family was notified of Allen’s death, deputies said.
The driver of the van didn’t sustain any injuries, according to officials.
Deputies urged anyone with information related to the accident to call the sheriff’s office and ask to talk with a fatality investigator at 478-751-7500.
