Teenager arrested after two men attacked

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with two reported assaults in Exmouth.

Devon and Cornwall Police said men aged 56 and 65 were injured in incidents on 15 April at a shop on Magnolia Walk and at Exmouth Indoor Market on The Strand.

The force said a teenager from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The boy has been conditionally bailed until 18 July, police said.

Sector Inspector for East and Mid Devon, Grant Leitch, said the victims have been updated on the progress of the investigation, which is continuing.

Insp Leitch added: "We take reports of this type extremely seriously and our neighbourhood team refuses to accept or allow such behaviour."
