Teens arrested, 2 others wanted after armed robbery in Portage la Prairie

Man killed by car after slip on road in South Indian Lake

Manitoba RCMP have arrested an 18-year-old woman and 14-year-old boy in connection with an armed robbery involving a gun and machete Thursday night in Portage la Prairie, Man.

Police had previously issued a warrant for 18-year-old Justice Marie Daniels's arrest Friday. She and one of two unnamed 14-year-old suspects are now in custody, RCMP say.

A second 14-year-old boy and 19-year-old Myles Asham are still wanted by police.

RCMP say shortly before 9 p.m., Thursday, they responded to reports of a home invasion on Hazel Bay in Portage la Prairie.

Two victims were threatened in the home with a firearm and one received minor injuries after being attacked with a machete, police allege.

Suspects stole an SUV then fled the scene.

RCMP say they stopped the stolen vehicle Saturday and arrested both Daniels and a 14-year-old in connection with the attack. Police found what they believe to be the same machete inside the stolen vehicle.

The remaining 14-year-old still wanted along with Asham fled on foot and were not in the SUV, police say.

RCMP are warning people against approaching the two suspects still on the lam: Asham and the 14-year-old.
