Texas Christian on Trump: 'he sounds just like me'

Bernadette McLeroy and her husband Robert canvas their neighborhood in Conroe, Texas, in a golf cart rallying neighbors to re-elect Republican President Donald Trump in November.

"So, I spend more of my retirement hours, is helping my neighbors be aware that these are the people we have to vote on, come November in our community."

The 75-year old retiree is a devout Christian.

She says she's sticking with Trump because of his opposition to abortion and his appointment of conservative judges.

"But most of all, what makes up any society to be strong is the family core. And he stands for those family cores."

And she shrugs off what some might say are the president's un-Christian comments and tone.

"Oh man, he sounds just like me. I sound just like him. I cannot change my personality. I cannot change Trump. That's why I like him."

Her friend Hector Vallejo is a Roman Catholic a father of six, stridently anti-abortion and pro-Trump.

"I hear people saying, well, he's not really pro-life, he's just talking the talk. Well, you know what, though? He's the first person that ever showed up at the March for Life, which, by the way, you never see on the news, right? So, it's incredibly important that we have a president that is pro-life and respects the dignity of life."

A sizable conservative Christian voting bloc supported the thrice-married former reality TV star in the 2016 election.

Four years later, in the wake of alleged hush-money payments to a porn star and former nude model, and dozens of allegations of sexual misconduct, business owner Kristin Cobb sees the president as a warrior fighting to protect her community's Christian values.

"In this election, I think we're looking at, you're looking at possibly some taking away of some of our rights that we've fought for, some of our Christian beliefs, I think are at stake. That's very concerning as a Christian."

Trump has denied the affairs and the claims of misconduct.
