Family members told 12 News Now that Monroe suffered from sickle cell disease, a set of red blood cell disorders that can cause pain and fatigue.
She experienced pain as a result of the disease. But for her family, that condition doesn’t explain her actions.
Monroe was the mother of two other sons, family members told 12 News Now.
