Texas Neighbors Sculpt Snow Dragon Following Wintry Bout

Residents of Amarillo got creative on Tuesday, January 24, after several inches of snow fell in the Texas Panhandle.

Timelapse footage captured by Kelli Schniederjan shows her family sculpting a dragon out of snow with help from neighbors in Amarillo on Tuesday.

Speaking to Storyful on Wednesday, Schniederjan said it was her idea to build a dragon. “When I was a kid, I visited my grandparents in Perryton and all my cousins made a similar one,” she said.

“Our dragon is still out there today but the coloring is covered by new snow so it doesn’t look that great!” she added.

According to the National Weather Service, flurries were possible in the area on Wednesday, but snow accumulation was not expected. Credit: Kelli Schniederjan via Storyful
