The Chase's Anne Hegerty feels 'slightly guilty' for enjoying life in isolation
The Chase quizzer Anne Hegerty has no qualms about being in isolation, but she isn’t enjoying her time alone guilt-free.
The 61-year-old appeared on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday from her home in Watford and described herself as the "luckiest person in the UK", but added that she did feel for those who didn’t share in her delight.
“I feel really slightly guilty about it,” she said, “but honestly I am literally the luckiest person in the UK right now, because I am absolutely fine staying on my own and I’ve been thinking for ages how wonderful it would be to have a nice, long guilt-free sabbatical.

"So, to be honest, this is working for me, if I just wasn’t worrying about how it’s not working for other people, obviously. Apart from missing recording The Chase, this actually really suits me.”
The brainiac also revealed that she had been occupying herself via online quizzes but had "rationed" herself to only doing three a day.
Last year, following her stint in the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! jungle at the end of 2018, Hegerty found herself with a very busy schedule.

The Governess, who has Asperger's, said at the time that she found her hectic work life "overwhelming" and that "not a day goes by" where she doesn't think about retiring.
Hegerty has previously explained that the job on the ITV quiz came about at a critical time for her, as her autism meant she struggled with multitasking and it was putting her work as a proofreader at risk.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Hegerty appearing on The Chase after making her debut in 2010.
