‘The Good Fight’ Flips Diane Lockhart’s World Upside Down

Fans of The Good Wife will be pleased to see Christine Baranski reprise her character role as Diane Lockhart in The Good Fight, a series that quickly pulls the rug out from underneath her just after she retires. Realizing that her entire savings was a fiction entangled in a Ponzi scheme by her financial adviser, she scrambles to get back into her old firm. Having signed an exit agreement, and with her reputation tarnished, the proposition is refused.

The series also co-stars Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey as Maia Rindell, daughter to Ponzi schemer Henry Rindell and goddaughter to Lockhart. Maia works in Lockhart’s firm as a newbie lawyer but her relationship to Lockhart becomes strained because of her father’s nefarious activities.

It’s a rival firm — and an unexpected recommendation from Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo), another character reprised from The Good Wife — that gets Lockhart’s head above water after she is suggested as a good choice for partner.

When Maia is also ousted from Lockhart’s former firm, Lockhart takes her under her wing as she begins to fight The Good Fight, but with this series only available on CBS All Access, you’ll have to subscribe to see more.

The Good Fight is available to stream on CBS All Access.
