Calgary police have charged a third person with murder in a homicide in the northeast community of Rundle in late June.

Maryann Smith, 21, has been charged with one count of second-degree murder. She was in court Friday morning for her first appearance on this charge.

Austen Cole Jamieson, 27, and Sajid Courtland Holloway, 29, were previously charged with first-degree murder.

On June 25, a man was found dead in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 2600 block of 38th Street N.E. at approximately 3 p.m.

The man was later identified as Calgary resident Blake Louis Walker, 37.

"This investigation has required us to collect evidence through the course of many months in order to find those responsible," said Staff Sgt. Colin Chisholm of the homicide unit in a news release.

"While our homicide unit has seen a heavy case load as of late, we continue to ensure each investigation is given the priority they so rightly deserve."
