MIDDLETON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republicans voted Saturday not to endorse anyone for governor ahead of the GOP primary in August, with former Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch falling just short of the 60% needed to get the nod — and cash — that comes with winning the party's official backing. It marked the first time delegates have not endorsed a candidate for governor. Many activists, and one of Kleefisch's rivals, had argued for not endorsing anyone, saying it would fracture the party. Ontario reported at least 809 people in hospital with COVID-19 on Sunday, down by more than 300 from Saturday and down by 215 from a week earlier. However, more than 10 per cent of hospitals did not submit their data, as happens occasionally on the weekend, so the number is anticipated to be higher. Of those in hospital, 152 required intensive care — a decrease of eight from the previous day's total — and 72 patients needed the help of a ventilator to breathe. The province reported at least 1,05
More than 80 per cent of COVID-related deaths in Canada's first wave happened in long-term care homes. And now a new coroner's report out of Quebec paints a devastating picture of how things unfolded at one of the hardest-hit residences. As Dan Spector tells us, the hope is the lessons learned during the first wave will help improve seniors' care across the country.

NORWICH, England (AP) — Tottenham clinched Champions League qualification with a 5-0 win over relegated Norwich in the last round of the Premier League on Sunday. Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski both scored twice and Harry Kane got the other goal as Spurs finished fourth, two points ahead of Arsenal, which defeated visiting Everton 5-1. Coach Antonio Conte’s team really only needed a point to be sure of finishing ahead of its crosstown rival on account of Spurs’ superior goal difference, but

Running his first Blue Nose, Nathan Ryan O'Hehir won the marathon handily, finishing in a time of two hours, 42 minutes and 47 seconds. "That was the hardest race I've ever done," Ryan O'Hehir said

You never know when or where you're going to find love. For Israel Hann and Eileen Baikie, they found it while staying at a seniors' home in Corner Brook. That's where Hann, who had been active in Corner Brook labour and community politics for decades, decided his future lay with Baikie in Labrador. Baikie, who had taught in North West River, says she was sick for about a year, and stayed in the home until she got better. That's where she met Hann, who recently turned 85. "She was sitting alone

TOKYO (AP) — President Joe Biden faced a dilemma on trade in Asia: He couldn't just rejoin the Trans-Pacific Partnership that his predecessor had pulled the U.S. out of in 2017. Many related trade deals, regardless of their content, had become politically toxic for U.S. voters, who associated them with job losses. So Biden came up with a replacement. During Biden's visit to Tokyo, the U.S. on Monday planned to announce the countries that are joining the new Indo-Pacific Economic Framework. In th

SEOUL (Reuters) -U.S. President Joe Biden, in Seoul before heading to Japan as part of his first Asia trip as president, had a simple message for North Korea's Kim Jong Un: "Hello... period," he told reporters on the last day of his visit to South Korea on Sunday. Biden said he was "not concerned" about new North Korean nuclear tests, which would be the first in nearly five years. But his wry response when asked what message he had for Kim underscored the administration's low-key approach to the unresolved tensions with North Korea.
