Power was restored to customers on New Brunswick's Acadian Peninsula around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

For much of the afternoon, more than 10,000 NB Power customers in that area were reporting outages.

The outages were concentrated in the Shippagan region and Lamèque and Miscou Islands.

The town of Shippagan had the highest number of outages with more than 1,400 customers without power.

In an email, NB Power said the outages were caused, at least in part, by a faulty breaker at one of their terminals.
