Update: Coroner ID’s three killed in fiery crash into palm tree near Kearney Park in Fresno
Three people died in a fiery crash near Kearney Park west of Fresno early Friday.
A Honda Civic going east on Kearney Boulevard left the roadway near Garfield Avenue about 2:45 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
It appeared the driver made an unsafe left turn, lost control and went off of the north shoulder of Kearney, officer Mike Salas said.
The car struck one of the palm trees that lines Kearney before bursting into flames in the fatal crash, CHP said.
All three people inside were pronounced dead at the scene, according to officers.
The coroner identified the three as Dario Urena, 25, of Kerman; Syrus Suniga, 21, of Kerman and Joey Suniga Jr., 27, of Kerman.
The coroner said Urena and Syrus are stepbrothers and Syrus and Joey are cousins.
