Three people killed, one juvenile hospitalized following Treasure Valley vehicle crash
A crash near Emmett in Gem County killed left three people dead and one hospitalized on Tuesday night.
A 22-year-old man from Meridian was driving an Audi S5 west on State Highway 52 with a 20-year-old female passenger, also from Meridian, when the car crossed the median into the eastbound lane of traffic at about 9:46 p.m., according to Idaho State Police.
The Audi collided with a Dodge pickup truck driven by an 18-year-old man from Emmett with a juvenile passenger.
The two people in the Audi and the Dodge driver died from their injuries at the scene near milepost 26, while the Dodge passenger was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, police said in a news release.
Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt, police said. Their names have not been released.
The highway’s lanes were blocked for about six hours after the collision.
Police said they were continuing to investigate.
