Tia Mowry is embracing her natural hair in more ways than one. The Sister, Sister alum is not only growing out her hair during her time in quarantine, but she's also embracing the gray that's growing out with it.
In an October 5th Instagram picture, Mowry shared a picture of her hair's growth progress, after posting a similar selfie on August 4th to mark just about a month after her 42nd birthday on July 6th.
"Y’all my #fro is growing!!" Mowry captioned her new post, tagging it with #naturalhair.
Mowry has been keeping her fans and followers up-to-date on her growth progress throughout the quarantine period, often sharing her best-loved products for styling her curls. Now, in this latest pic, we can see that Mowry's natural color is just as good as the growth itself.
"I love how you embrace the grey’s and your natural hair!" one follower commented on the post. Another added, "I love it!! salt and pepper." And another user gave Mowry kudos for proudly showing off her grays—"Thanks for repping for those that don’t have the guts yet!"
Mowry began showing off her grays more regularly at the very start of the pandemic (when we all sprouted a few gray hairs thanks to the sudden stay-at-home stress). However, she's no stranger to embracing the gray, having rocked an occasional strand since at least 2017.
And Mowry isn't the only celeb who has started embracing her grays in recent months. Salma Hayek has shown her "white hair of wisdom" on Instagram—however, to be fair, Hayek has also been doing the gray hair thing for years now.
Gray, white, salt-and-pepper—they're all colors that show maturity, smarts, experience, and a fulfilling life. And the more we flaunt our natural hair like Mowry and Hayek, the more normal and beautiful it becomes.
