Ticket sales high for Charlottetown waterfront concert series

Concertgoers attending Charlottetown's Canada Day waterfront concerts series were well behaved says the president of Shift Project & Event Management.

"There were no fights, not even a scuffle," said Mark Fisher.

More than 2,800 tickets were sold for Friday's concert that featured Kim Mitchell and April Wine.

Saturday's concert with City and Colour, Joel Plaskett and Paper Lions sold more than 3,200 tickets.

Fisher said the limit set by the city was 3,500.

Activities like a barbershop, food trucks, graffiti walls and massage therapy were on the concert site.

This was the first time Shift Project & Event Management presented the concerts. Fisher said he has plans to expand the concert series to three nights next year around the Canada Day holiday.

Fisher said he is thinking about what acts to hire for next year.

He has plans to visit the Pemberton Music Festival in British Columbia next week where the headline acts include Black Keys, Kendrick Lamar and Weezer.
