Tiger King is returning for a second series full of “mayhem and madness”, it has been announced.

The programme’s tale of big cat breeding and murder-for-hire took the world by storm when it was released last year, and there has been lots of speculation about a follow-up.

Netflix has now confirmed that series two is coming and that it will be out later this year.

The streaming service tweeted: “Tiger King is coming back this year - and Season 2 promises just as much mayhem and madness as Season 1!”

The true crime documentary was released in March 2020 and told the story of zookeeper and felon Joe Exotic.

It was a huge hit with viewers and was nominated for gongs at the MTV Movie & TV Awards and the Emmys.

Fans were thrilled to hear there is going to be another instalment.

“This does put a smile on my face,” posted one person on Twitter, while another told Netflix. “You just beat the Internet for today!”

“Can’t wait for this messiness,” said another.
