A man who became a TikTok star after filming himself skateboarding down the street and listening to Fleetwood Mac has received $10,000 (£7,800) in donations from fans.

Nathan Apodaca told US tabloid news website TMZ the donations would help him upgrade his currently defunct RV, which is parked outside of his brother's house in Idaho Falls and has no running water.

Mr Apodaca said he would also use the funds to upgrade his car, meaning he will be able to put the skateboard away for his commute to work in a local potato factory.

But not all of the money will be spent on himself, with the TikTok star planning instead to use some of the cash generated to help other people in his life, too.

He's already pledged to give his mother $5,000 (£3,900) as a surprise, and has bought his girlfriend a new washer and dryer already. Mr Apodaca has also gifted his daughter some new clothes.

Mr Apodaca's footage of himself on his skateboard, which was posted on his @420doggface208 TikTok account five days ago, has attracted more than 17 million views to date.

Thousands of fans commented on how “peaceful” and “soothing” they found the video, which features Fleetwood Mac's famous track 'Dreams' and caused the band to trend on Twitter on September 26.

Mr Apodaca himself meanwhile told TMZ he hoped to be contacted by the band and Ocean Spray, the brand of juice which features in his video, for a potential commercial on the back of all the attention.
