Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty has been a game-changer not only for makeup lovers, but the cosmetics industry as a whole — the Fenty effect is real and it’s incredible to watch. Fenty Beauty is already outselling major brands like Kylie Cosmetics, and that has to do with the fact that the company came out of the gate with a diverse shade range featuring 40 foundation shades. We all know by now that representation matters, and Rihanna knows this firsthand.

While beauty fans eagerly waited for the brand to make its debut, every RiRi sighting turned into a guessing game regarding which Fenty products Rihanna might be wearing. She had been wearing Fenty Beauty covertly for over a year, even before it was launched. Little did we know how much the singer had in store for us. Here we thought we could expect a few highlighters and lipsticks, but Rihanna went and turned the world upside down.
