‘Tiny Arcade’ Puts Retro Games Cabinet In The Palm Of Your Hand

A designer is crowdfunding a playable ‘Tiny Arcade’ games cabinet that’s so small that it fits into the palm of hand.

The diminutive gadget can be used to play retro-style games that can be downloaded for free from the maker’s website.

The plan is to have 20 classic titles ready for launch, including Tiny Invaders, Tiny Outrun and Asteroids. Games can be loaded up from a microSD card.

Powered by an Arduino microcomputer, the cabinet sports a full colour OLED screen, an analogue joystick and two push buttons, built-in speaker and a rechargeable lithium battery.

The cabinets can be customised with supplied artwork stickers.

What’s more, Tiny Arcade can play back MP4 videos on its minuscule screen.

Prices start at $60 (£39) for a DIY kit so that buyers can put together their own mini arcade cabinet, while a pre-assembled cabinet costs $75 (£49).

If the Kickstarter target is reached, the tiny arcade cabinets are due to ship in April 2016.
