‘Tis the season for road and bridge work

·1 min read

BROCKTON – A broken watermain near the Durham Street bridge in Walkerton brought out workers and heavy equipment on Canada Day.

Although the bridge is slated for replacement, it won’t be for a few years yet. An environmental assessment must be completed, which is a major process.

Other bridge and roadwork is being done in the area including on Bruce Road 3 and Bruce Road 4.

The Steffler Bridge on Bruce Road 12 north of Belmore is being replaced. Detours will be in place for the rest of the summer (east on Concession Road 2 West, Bruce Road 28, and Bruce Road 6 East).

Work is also being done on the bridge at the west end of Hanover.
