Tokyo 2021: Explore U.S. Olympian meal plans in augmented reality

Olympian athletes have to eat a lot of food while they train. Swimmer Michael Phelps, for example, famously said he consumed 8,000-10,000 per day while preparing for the Beijing Games after originally saying he ate 12,000 calories per day.

We looked at the meal plans of three Olympians competing in the 2021 games in Tokyo: Swimmer Katie Ledecky, sprinter Allyson Felix and skateboarder Nyjah Huston. While none of them ate as much as Phelps did during his career, they all have similar diets. They ate a lot of foods rich in protein and carbs without much sugar.
