Tokyo Deploys Security Robots in Preparation for Future Labor Shortages

Security robots have begun patrolling Tokyo to offset a predicted future security personnel shortage, according to the news site NHK.

The autonomous mobile security robot developed by Tokyo-based company Seqsense uses image-recognition and sensor technology to patrol along predetermined routes.

The SQ-2 patrol robot has already been deployed inside multiple government facilities and office buildings around Tokyo and surrounding areas, according to the Seqsense website.
